I'm more than happy, to be back in Singapore !! *cheers*
I guess i expected too much of Bali. I thought it'll feel like Singapore (or even be better off) since the eurasians enjoy going there so much. But i realised everything isnt as Singapore-ish as i expected it to be!
#1: the road condition was pathetic - its dirty and there's jam frequently (on the road)
#2: their gst is 11% (which is worse off than sg's 7%)
#3: their hygiene's poor - imagine flies flying around the food youre gona eat, and the cutleries doesnt look clean etc
#4: security - i feel so insecure there, worried that someone there will snatch my phone or my wallet/bag, its horrifying
#5: there's so much mosquitos around, and the weather's damnnnnn hot when it isnt raining (which im relieved to say Bali rained during day 2~4 so i only suffered in the humid weather for one day)
#6: the people there are out to cheat money - they may give you the wrong change, or they may give you some spoilt products if you dont check properly, and there's no consistency in their product! One product may be sold at 30,000rp in one shop but 12000rp in another, its too much the difference which kinda pisses me off cause sometimes i bought the more expensive one rofl.
#7: the things there are generally expensive but the point is - the products arent even up to that standard to be sold so expensively
#8: i dont uds or speak malay - which is kinda their first language there - so i have a difficulty corresponding with them sometimes and it pisses me off (although my dad can lingo with them well)
So much for the complaints, i guess i should stop before you guys decide that maybe you'all shouldnt enter indonesia/bali but i think if im given a choice, i'll never wana go to Bali. Its not worth it, i feel personally..
But amidst the disappointment, angsty and all,
Day 2 - Safari & play
We went to the safari where we saw many different wild life animals - including tigers, lions, hippo, crocodiles, antelopes, goat, giraffes and many more. They're not locked in any cage - which is different from singapore, so we sat on some cool bus which can transform into a boat when on water and train when on some railings. I enjoyed it.
Then we had lunch before watching a play on the history on Bali and its king. It's really interesting and well performed. They made use of many animals - they sat on elephants, they brought the cheetah out, camels, and many more. Its damn cool to see a cheetah real life without any cages and all.
Day 3 - sight-seeing of volcano and many more
We rented a car at about 60SGD for a day. The main purpose was to travel uphill to see the dormant volcano. It was awesome up there - cooling. But due to the rain we werent able to see the volcano clearly at first cause there was mist around but we were lucky enuf that the mist disappeared for quite some time and we managed to have a clear view of it.
We got to drink some of their different coffee (of which some tastes wierd but some are awesome - given that i dont really appreciate or drink coffee much) and we visited shops selling wood sculptures (and i saw how some of them are sculpturing wood over there), gold & silver, and many more..
Other days or activities were not much of a mention - probably cause i think its kinda lame or mundane. Hehe. Or maybe, what ive mentioned above is kinda mundane alr eh?
Oh, before i end the entry..
I find it quite retarded that during the customs check in Indooneesiaa they made those wearing covered shoe take off their shoes and made those wearing belts to remove them - which i realised that they're out to humiliate us. But the point is, if they hope to have more visitors and tourists, they shouldnt be doing this kind of thing am i right? I dont see the customs doing that in our homeland, its quite meaningless to be honest. This country that i visited has topped my countries-i-hope-i'd-never-have-enter-again list.
I hope to visit taiwan, european countries, korea and japan someday though.
I know this post is really wordy but im so shagged and drained to transfer/upload photos i took over here. Maybe i'll share them with you on my next entry or maybe in entries next week :) i didnt take much photos to be honest hehehe. Not a camera person to be honest hahaha.
Thats all for now.
Thanks for reading this ultimately wordy post.
P.S. This trip to Bali definitely made me appreciate and love/adore Singapore much more. I love you, Singapore :) im glad im living in Singapore *cheers*
Signing off (tiredly),
